Ska-tinged Boston punk band The Takeaways will release their new album “The City” on Friday, February 21st at Roggie’s in Brighton. This follows their last EP Over the Moon released November 2012. The Takeaways have teased two tracks from the upcoming album on bandcamp, the third-wavey “Sleep All Day” and the punkier “Paint My Wall Red.”
Fans of Common Rider and brashier punk bands will dig The Takeaways. Were you to ask the band they’d tell you they “play fast paced punk and ska songs that will make you want to dance, cry and punch someone in the face all at the same time.”
Supporting the bill are blue-grassy folk-punk band OTP and ska-punkers Poor Jeremy, both Boston-based bands, making for a very well-rounded bill.
This gig kicks off a week-long northeast tour for The Takeaways.
