In a word: energy. Energy is the thing that keeps me going to shows, and energy is the commonality of most of the music I listen to. If there was ever a band to just bring it, it’s The Best of the Worst from New Jersey. I’ve seen them twice and their unique blend of ska-punk and hardcore is like nothing. It’s been a few years for me, so I’m psyched they’ll be passing through town tomorrow, joined by Boston ska/punk band Poor Jeremy returning home from their week-long “One More Beer” tour. Also on the bill are Fall River folk/punk band The Wolf Hongos and Watertown ska/punk band The Rolling Coasters. Originally scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 7pm at Roggie’s, the show is being moved. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know where it’s been moved to. Join the Facebook Event for more info.
This band’s been making music since 2005 and releasing quite a few records since them, many available on bandcamp and quite a few releases on Community Records. Community Records is also home to bands like Fatter Than Albert, We Are The Union, The Flaming Tsunamis, and other similarly minded bands. If you’re a fan of any of them, you’ll dig this band. They recently released the album “Perspectives” in 2013 and expect to release a record in July of this year.
