Earlier this month, The Pomps announced they would be releasing a new record through the Rarebreed Recording Company. Rarebreed is a newer project from Obi Fernandez (Westbound Train) and Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake) and their 2015 summer compilation featured a track by The Pomps. Listen to “A Shakey Truce” from that compilation below:
Back in April the band teased that they were recording and it sounds like that record is close to completion. This new release follows their 2013 EP “Pomps Save The Queen” and their 2012 debut “Top of the Pomps.” Band leader Alex Stern has somehow find time to record and release with The Pomps while touring with Big D and the Kids Table and releasing a song every week in 2015.
Along with The Feel Goods, The Pomps will be local support for The Slackers this December 18 at The Sinclair. The Slackers’ annual holiday shows are always a special event and it’s great to have a Boston band on the bill. Tickets for that show are on sale now. Join the Facebook event here.
If you’ve got friends out west, be sure to tell them to see The Pomps when they visit in February 2016.
