The Doped Up Dollies have extended their thanks to supporters for their album Kickstarter. There are still 15 days to go but they’ve raised almost double their original goal! The video reveals a sincere and genuine appreciation from the Dollies, some footage from the recording sessions, and a bearded Dave McWane which is just sort of odd.
Fans spoke, and early on it was clear this record would reach funding. The band added new “stretch” rewards to keep the money coming in. Items such as slipmats and CDs were added to funding tiers. At the $11,000 mark, they drew a line in the sand noting they wouldn’t be offering any more goals just yet. This was a smart move, as there are often unexpected expenses that arise with manufacturing a record and it’s easy to get caught up in the merchandising.
You’ve still got plenty of time to chip in, effectively pre-ordering your record at this stage. For those curious about the recording process, the band posted photos of their check list. Is there a play-at-home bingo version? A Doped Up Dollies recording session drinking game? How do I get in on this?
