For the past decade, the year’s end has been a great time for Boston punk/ska. Something about the holiday spirit really brings out the festive nature of the community, as several major events are planned around that time. One of the most recognizable is Wreck The Halls, the annual weekend-long event held every year by the Street Dogs.
The band recently announced what will be the 11th iteration of the event, which will go down December 15th-18th at the Brighton Music Hall. Notably, this year the Street Dogs will be co-headlining the shows with The New Darkbuster (not entirely surprising, as Lenny has been playing guitar in the Street Dogs since 2013.) Tickets will be available this Friday, with proceeds from all four shows going to the Where Angels Play Foundation. As with last year the full line-ups have yet to be announced, but will hopefully be out in the near future (UPDATE 10/6/2016: openers for all four nights have been announced!). Even more exiting, the band is asking fans to head to their Facebook page and post songs they want the band to play (they didn’t specify that it had to be their own songs, so now would be the time to pitch that Hall and Oates cover you’ve always wanted.)
