Philadelphia ska mainstays The Snails have shared a track from their upcoming album Songs From The Hydrogen Jukebox: Vol. 1+2, which is set to release next month. The track, “Strong Foundation”, is a deliberate rocksteady/reggae tune that maintains a steady groove throughout. The song’s real treat is the infectious hook, which is accentuated by a stripped-down coda and stays with you long after the song is finished.
Songs From The Hydrogen Jukebox: Vol. 1+2 is out May 2014 via Asbestos Records, and will be the first of two planned records that will span a number of styles The Snails have become known for.
In addition to this new tune, check out several albums worth of other material on The Snail’s Bandcamp in preparation for their show this Saturday at the Plough and Stars in Cambridge with Riki Rocksteady & The Arraignments.
