Earlier this week, Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers and Jesse Wagner of The Aggrolites played a 3-song acoustic set on WFMU’s Prove It All Night with Pat Byrne. Fresh off their 5-date stint together that hit The Sinclair in Cambridge last month, the two frontmen played blues-and folk inspired tracks that Vic had written previously. While the three songs are brief and to the point, the second song “Can We Get Back” features a bridge with Vic sharing a rambling story that is totally normal behavior if you’ve ever seen The Slackers live.
The set is available as a free download via the Free Music Archive, WFMU’s interactive audio library of free high-quality downloadable material. Prove It All Night with Pat Byrne airs on WFMU in New York/New Jersey every Saturday from 9pm to Midnight EST, and is described as a show where “DJ Pat Byrne does what he does best: acts weird, plays good music, and repeats… repeats… repeats… repeats. Your 3-hour passport to insomnia”. You can check out past and future episodes here. WFMU is the longest running freeform radio station currently in America.
Hear and download the 3-song set via the Free Music Archive, and check out the entire program via WFMU’s website.
