Yesterday, Boston’s Big D and the Kids Table released a track on on Soundcloud commemorating first anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. It’s an uplifting punk ballad laden with Boston references and positive reinforcement. The song kicks off with lead vocals from Doped Up Dolly Sirae Richardson.
Jeff Rosenstock (of Bomb! the Music Industry) and Chris Farren (of Florida’s Fake Problems) have been working on a seven song pop album together under the name Antarctigo Vespucci.

In the early 2000s, I was a student at UConn in Storrs, CT. I had been spoiled by the ska and punk scene in the New Haven area where I’d grown up. I soon discovered that Boston was less than an hour and a half away. Suddenly, I had new options for shows.
First off, sorry I fell off the planet the end of February. I got sick which meant going to bed at normal hours, not staying up late or waking up early to blog. (It’d be so great if I had some help, hint hint.)
Meanwhile, the bands we love have big things going on!
Rock On! Concerts, purveyors of shows on a boat, have announced the annual summer concert cruise featuring New York City ska stalwarts The Slackers. The cruise will be Friday, August 22, 2014, is 21+ only, and will run you $25-$30 plus a $7 service charge. Tickets are already on sale. Supporting acts have not yet been announced.
