Back in January Boston ska band The New Limits dropped a few new covers during their set at The Midway Cafe. Most notably, we were joined by Lenny Lashley for a cover of “Rudy” originally performed by his band Darkbuster. We were joined by members of The Screw-Ups and The Copacetics, also sharing the stage with us that evening.
Darkbuster is about to head on tour with Dropkick Murphys this February into March. Lenny also performs with Street Dogs and as his own Gang of One.
Later that night, we broke out our cover of The Specials’ classic “Nite Klub.” We learned it last summer but had only performed it once before. Given the recent passings of Rico Rodriguez and John Bradbury, it felt particularly appropriate to pay tribute.
The New Limits next perform on February 23 at the Foundation Room. Watch the calendar for more upcoming shows.
