Blogger David Rabid, aka Punk Rock Pravda, with the help of his friends has compiled a record of New England bands to benefit two causes. Proceeds from compilation sales will go to One Fund and the American Brain Tumor Association. One Fund exists to support survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombing. ABTA is a cause particularly close to one of the curators of the compilation. You can read about the inspiration behind the compilation on the Bandcamp page.
Among the 20 solid tracks are tunes from Boston ska/punk bands including Stray Bullets, Brunt of It, Big D and the Kids Table, The Pomps, and Have Nots. Listen below. Then head to bandcamp and shell out the $5 for these great causes.
(I’m also a big fan of the tracks from Poison Ivy League, Borderlines, The Prozacs, and Trophy Lungs; it’s a really great comp.)
