This past weekend, Nick and the Adversaries performed at the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain on a bill with The Warning Shots and Jason Bennett and the Resistance. For the uninitiated, Nick and the Adversaries is a veritable all-star band led by guitarist Nick Bacon of Pilfers fame, bassist Steve Foote of Big D and the Kids Table, Alex Stern of Big D and The Pomps (and um, of Alex Stern) on keys, and drummer Corky Evans of Spring Heeled Jack USA. Loyal show-goer and YouTuber AtheistPeace was on hand for the gig and captured them covering The Specials’ hit “Gangsters.”
The band also performed a few songs from their 2013 EP “Give Give Give.” This EP features Pilfers drummer James Blanc. It’s a solid record and I highy recommend giving it a listen. It’s available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
Nick and the Adversaries next perform April 30th at the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain on April 30 at 9:30 PM. Head to the calendar for more show listings.
